Central Command or CentComm refers to the staffing company NanoTrasen utilizes to man their stations in the Starlight Sector. All employees  with the exception of the NanoTrasen Representative, Magistrate, and Blue Shield Officer are contracted through CentComm to work on NanoTrasen stations as needed.

CentComm itself is divided into 9 divisions and is composed primarily of bureaucrats and dignitaries. Most divisions correspond to departments on the station and are responsible for training the head and hiring contractors for their respective departments. The majority of CentComm's resources are dedicated to training these individuals, who in turn are expected to handle oversight and day to day operations on the stations. Since all heads of staff and captains receive extensive training through CentComm they are viewed as investments to be protected, while most other employees are easier to replace.
The Beginning
In 2165, following successful military careers a number of disgruntled NanoTresan senior military officials retired. These departures were due in part to their dissatisfaction of NanoTresan's treatment of their employees, and actions taken during the Kidan War. Unable to return to civilian life, and with little life remaining from their previous lack of work-life balance, these individuals collectively founded a start-up named Stellar Vanguard Solutions. This new company specialized primarily in training and handling mercenary contracts, and was initially massively successful due fears of future conflict which burned in the collective public consciousness following the recent Kidan War.

During this time NanoTresan saw a rather large exodus of employees. These individuals left due in part to their loyalty to previous trainers and leaders, as well as hopes for better (and safer) working environments. Shortly afterwards NanoTresan began to see an increasing number of accidents, and even worse, loss of station productivity due to poor worker morale and spiraling corruption. This culminated in the Cargonia Pineapple Incident. It was during this time that NanoTresan decided to focus on its equipment, scientific research, and robust military. The decision to outsource station personnel was made.

Relationship to NanoTrasen
CentComm’s relationship with NanoTrasen can be tense, though highly beneficial for both parties. While NanoTrasen owns the stations and all equipment, CentComm’s assets are their employees. NanoTrasen receives all profits and products developed on their stations and in return pays CentComm to handle all matters concerning the people on the station. NanoTrasen may make station modifications or changes to SOP's based on CentComm's recommendations so long as it improves employee productivity.

Roughly 80% of CentComm’s gross earnings come from this contract with NanoTrasen. The remaining 20% comes from vendors who pay a premium to place their vending machines and advertisements on the stations.

Divisions
Central Administration Division
The Central Administration Division is largely responsible for communication, both within CentComm itself as well as with their employees on NanoTrasen stations. They transmit important announcements to stations, receive all communications from the station to CentComm and facilitate its delivery to the relevant division.

Central Research Division
The Central Research Division trains the Research Director, and hires all science department personnel.

Central Security Division
Meanwhile, as peace fell over the Starlight Sector, Stellar Vanguard began to receive fewer and fewer contracts. The need for mercenaries plummeted, and groups requiring long-term protective personnel moved to directly hiring veterans, instead of renewing contracts. In response Stellar Vanguard tried to branch out and extended its services to include scientists, medical personnel, engineers, and in a last ditch effort: janitors. Unfortunately, extending facilities and starting new training programs proved expensive, and the company was forced deeper into debt.
The Central Security Division is responsible for hiring security personnel, and training the Head of Security. Security cadets and officers receive extensive background checks, psychological evaluations and fitness tests all of which are administered through CSD.

Central Supply Division
In 2220, despite their differences both Stellar Vanguard Solutions and NanoTresan realized an opportunity had presented itself. NanoTresan offered to pay off Stellar Vanguard Solutions' debts (and some senior directors), as well as to provide Stellar Vanguard Solutions with 80% of their necessary funding. In exchange Stellar Vanguard Solutions would sign an exclusivity contract, and transition to training heads of departments as well as handling all employee relations and staffing on NanoTresan Stations. While most of the founders argued this to be the start of a mutually beneficial relationship, many viewed this deal as a direct betrayal. Internal relations soured all the more as Stellar Vanguard Solutions transitioned and roles were eliminated. Eliminated employees and a few founding members absconded, with many joining rival corporations including CyberSun and other organizations that would be later known collectively as the Syndicate.
The Central Supply Division is responsible for the procurement of materials outside of CentComm. This includes negotiating deals with external vendors. Once materials are in CentComm's possession they are given to the Central Logistics Division for internal distribution.

Central Logistics Division
Stellar Vanguard Solutions changed its name to Central Command, or CentComm as it is presently known. Some whisper it was due to the guilt and self-loathing of returning into NanoTresan's folds. But most say that name makes more sense given the massive shift in company structure and complete change of product scope. Either way the founding of CentComm resulted in both the beginning of a massive enterprise as well as the dissolution of decades old friendships.
The Central Logistics Division is responsible for the internal distribution of materials including those made within CentComm and those procured from the Central Supply Division. However, this division's primary responsibility is training the Quartermaster.

Central Engineering Division
The Central Engineering Division is responsible for hiring all individuals in the Engineering department as well as training the Chief Engineer.

Emergency Response Team (ERT)
Emergency response teams exist for each department present on the station. Squad members are chosen from the very best heads of their respective departments, and thus consist of the most talented individuals CentComm has to offer.

Joining the emergency response team is a large commitment, those who join will remain for the rest of their tenure. ERT members live away from the complex that houses the rest of CentComm officials and employees. All ERT members live in barracks together to build unit cohesion, and are thus all at least familiar with one another.

CBURN
CBURN teams consist of previous ERT members who've received specialized training in dealing with specific threats. These threats may be Chemical, Biological, [REDACTED], Radiological, or Nuclear. [REDACTED] threats are incredibly rare, in fact most people aren't even aware such a thing could happen.

CSOD primarily dispatches these teams when stations are faced with aggressive biological threats, often viral in nature. Importantly these teams are dispatched to eliminate a specific threat, not cure or merely treat it. Their primary directive is to preserve NanoTrasen property.

Death Squad
Death Squad members, while controlled by CSOD, are recruited from NT’s top military elite. These are the most talented, tenacious, and ruthless individuals at NanoTrasen’s disposal. Although CentComm officials may act as their handlers, Death Squad members have no loyalty to CentComm or ties to its employees. They’ve been brainwashed through NanoTrasen, and are not trained to think only to follow orders. However they are hyper efficient and will go to any lengths necessary to complete their objectives.
While ERT squads consist of the most exceptionally talented individuals from their respective departments and may act with precision and finesse, the Death Squads are a blunt force tool.
Central Operations Council (COC)
The central operations council is composed of 2 heads from each division and only convenes for matters requiring coordination between multiple departments such as creation of a new experimental research shuttle (Science & Engineering). The Council also gathers for extreme scenarios such as death squad deployment.
All council members with the exception of CSOD are voting members. However, in the case of a tied vote CSOD makes the final decision.

Stellar Vanguard Solutions changed its name to Central Command, or CentComm as it is presently known. Some whisper it was due to the guilt and self-loathing of returning into NanoTresan's folds. But most say that name makes more sense given the massive shift in company structure and complete change of product scope.
