2. Atmospheric Technicians are permitted to completely rebuild the Atmospherics Piping Setup, provided they do not pump harmful gases into anywhere except the engines;

- The station safety and appearance can be improved by installing additional lights. While Janitorial replaces broken lightbulbs, Engineering can quickly install a whole wall socket including bulb with the RCD tool

6. Atmospheric Technicians are not permitted to tamper with the default values on Air Alarms without good reason. They are, however, permitted to create small, acclimatized rooms for species that require special atmospheric conditions (such as Plasmamen and Vox), provided they receive express permission from the Chief Engineer;

  1. Starlight Engineering SOP

The responsibilities of the Engineering Department includes:

- Power generation - Atmospherics control - Repair station damage - Additional constructions

  1. Initial Setup

The start of the shift is the main time for engineering to shine as multiple things have to be done at the same time which are station critical, which are Power Generation and Atmospherics Control.

    1. Power Generation

1. AME shall set up first, sometimes even before gearing up 2. After AME setup, either a Singularity or Tesla can be built, depending on the station layout 3. Turning off AME

    1. Atmospherics Control

1. Main air supply generation as primary responsibility 2. Air exhaust/waste should be set up afterwards, filtered or unfiltered

  1. General Engineering

All Members of the Engineering Department are surmised here under the term Engineer

- Damages on the Bridge and Evac are to be treated as high priority, followed by Medical and Security.

- Engineers are permitted to hack doors to gain unauthorized access to locations if said locations happen to require urgent repairs

- Engineers are permitted to carry out solo reconstruction/rebuilding/personal projects if there is no damage to the station that requires fixing

- The station safety and appearance can be improved by installing additional lights. While Janitorial replaces broken lightbulbs, Engineering can quickly install a whole wall socket including bulb with the RCD tool

  1. Roles

The roles are in a hierarchical order, from top to bottom:

1. Chief Engineer 2. Atmospheric Technician 3. Station Engineer 4. Technical Assistant

Atmospheric Technicians include the duties of a Station Engineer. But in case there is atmospheric work to be done, their specialization has priority

    1. Technical Assistant

The Technical Assistant, in the following abbreviated as TA, is the Assistant role equivalent of the Engineering Department

- The TAs primary responsibility is to learn

- TAs must remain with a Station Engineer or Atmospheric Technician at all times

- TAs may work alone in deploying solar panels if they are properly trained

- TAs may not remodel, rebuild or move major station components without engineer supervision

- TAs are recommended to tell the department at every shift about their current training status. This includes their knowledge of being on a Space Station but also regarding their knowledge in engineering. This helps to train the TA better but also protects the TA from harsh treatment

    1. Station Engineer

The Station Engineer, in the following abbreviated as Engineer, is the general role of the Engineering Department

- Engineers must properly activate and wire the AME at the start of the shift, before any other actions are undertaken

- Engineers handle the initial power setup of Singularity or Tesla and are advised to ask the CE for their preference

- One Engineer should be at the Engineering front desk at all times. It is also advised that this person is supervising the monitors of engineering and handles status updated for the engineering departments

    1. Atmospheric Technician

The Atmospheric Technician, in the following abbreviated as Atmos, is the specialized role of the Engineering Department

- An Atmos must properly set up before these doing anything else:

 - the air distribution network and
 - the air exhaust/waste

- Atmos should build a TEG or a SM if reasonable possible on the station and within the capabilities of the Atmos

    1. Chief Engineer

The Chief Engineer, in the following abbreviated as CE, is the command role of the Engineering Department

- The Chief Engineer handles the initial setup of power generation and air management

Depending on the performance of his staff, they can choose different approaches:
   - They can instruct the team from the bridge, monitoring the team via the console
   - They can supervise the setup in person
   - They can work together with their team to ensure a correct setup
   - They have to do the tasks by themselves
The CE as a commander, is advised to guide their team verbally. In case the team cannot perform the setup in a timely manner, the CE is recommended to solve the problems first hand

- The Standard Command SOP applies
